Orthofix Announces New SVP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer
Puja Leekha is joining Orthofix and the Executive Leadership Team today, August 1, 2023, as its new SVP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO).
As SVP, CECO, Puja will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s compliance program and policies, ensuring its business practices and interactions with healthcare professionals are compliant with current legal and industry standards in all of its global markets. Orthofix President and CEO Keith Valentine announced the news today.
Prior to joining Orthofix, Puja served as Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Counsel at Lundbeck Pharmaceuticals for five years. She was responsible for leading the company’s Compliance Program for North America where she provided guidance to all parts of the pharmaceutical manufacturing business. Before Lundbeck Pharmaceuticals, Puja worked for Stryker Corporation for nearly three years as Division Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer where she provided tactical support to the global medical technology company, led the Compliance Program for the healthcare consulting arm of Stryker, handled all legal and compliance matters, and developed and implemented new strategies for value-based healthcare initiatives globally.
Puja graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a Biotechnology specialization before earning her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. With a decade of litigation experience representing pharmaceutical and medical device companies, Puja has experience that will help Orthofix strategically accomplish its business goals. As a recipient of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Luminary Award, Puja has proven that she has both expertise and leadership within the healthcare industry – qualities that will be a solid addition to the Orthofix team.
Puja and her husband, Freddy, are excited to start their next adventure in Dallas and look forward to exploring everything the state of Texas has to offer. In her free time, Puja enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exploring new restaurants and wine, books, live music, participating in racket sports and cheering on her husband when he competes in triathlons.
