Native American Heritage Month is recognized throughout November, an observation which started in 1990 under President H.W. Bush to recognize the significant contributions and sacrifices of the first people of America – as well as the people of Alaska, Hawaii, and numerous Island communities – to the establishment and growth of our country.

The U.S. is home to 579 federally recognized sovereign tribal nations. We honor the rich heritage and diverse cultures and traditions of all Native American and indigenous communities and their integral importance to our past, present and future.

We encourage you to join us to celebrate our Native American employees and ensure their rich histories and cultures endure from generation to generation.
