Introducing the Orthofix Biologics Surgeon Advisory Board
Orthofix is proud to formally announce the appointment of our Biologics Surgeon Advisory Board—a distinguished team of spine surgeons committed to advancing the impact of biologics in patient care. Comprised of seven highly recognized surgeons representing both neurologic and orthopedic spine specialties, this team will collaborate to support the continued development and elevation of the comprehensive, science-backed Orthofix Biologics portfolio. Each surgeon was carefully selected based upon their depth of clinical experience, leadership within the spine community, dedication to elevating patient care, and recognition of the importance of biologics in spinal fusion.
This appointment marks an important milestone for Orthofix Biologics, strengthening our scientific foundation and providing valuable clinical insight to guide future success. Through this team of leaders, we remain committed to advancing spine care by delivering biologics powered by meaningful innovation, robust data, and clinical expertise.

Surgeon Advisory Board

Andrew Chung, DO
Dr. Andrew Chung (Banner Health, Arizona) is a spine surgeon who provides cutting edge, ultra-minimally invasive spine care, and is considered an international expert in endoscopic spine surgery. He is one of the few double-fellowship trained board certified spine surgeons in Arizona who has trained with both world-renowned neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons at some of the top hospitals in the nation, including: Mayo Clinic, University of Southern California, and Cedar Sinai Hospital. A surgeon-scientist, Dr. Chung has authored over 65 peer-reviewed articles in major spine and orthopedic journals and has written several book chapters on spine surgical care. Dr. Chung is also a Board Member of Korean American Spine Society (KASS), a founding member of the World UBE Society (America), and has received multiple Best Paper awards at national spine meetings, along with multiple young investigator awards and grants.
Dr. Raymond Hah (USC, California) is an Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, specializing in adult spinal deformity surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and complex revision and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hah is the director of the USC Spine Fellowship. He is actively engaged in clinical research and academic leadership, having authored over 80 publications, along with teaching medical students, residents, and fellows at Keck Medical Center of USC. He has received various accolades for his impact in the medical field, including the USC Dean’s Award for Early Career Excellence, the 2021 NASS/SpineLine “20 Under 40” Award, Los Angeles Magazine’s 2017–2022 Southern California Rising Star Award, and Pasadena Magazine’s 2016–2021 Top Doctor Award. Dr. Hah received his medical degree at Northwestern University, his residency at Los Angeles County and University of Southern California medical center, and completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Wisconsin.

Raymond Hah, MD

Phillip Louie, MD
Dr. Philip Louie (Virginia Mason, Washington) is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, degenerative spinal conditions, complex adult and pediatric spinal surgery, scoliosis, and reconstructive spine surgery. Dr. Louie trained under some of the world’s experts in spine surgery, where he learned minimally invasive techniques. He is heavily involved in research and academic leadership, authoring over 180 peer-reviewed publications, over 35 book chapters, and multiple textbooks, along with being an active reviewer of 8 academic journals. He is a prominent leader in the spine field, serving on the AO Spine Clinical Science Advisory Committee and SMISS Young Surgeon Committee, and earning numerous research awards and grants, such as the AO Spine Knowledge Forum Associate Research Award. Dr. Louie received his medical degree from the University of Washington, completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). He is also actively completing his Executive MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Emmanuel Menga (University of Miami, Florida) is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive spinal surgery and complex spinal surgery/scoliosis. He is currently the Vice Chair of Education, Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Director, and Associate Fellowship Program Director of Spine Surgery at the University of Miami. Dr. Menga has received various accolades, including the 2018 NASS/SpineLine “20 Under 40” award. Dr. Menga is also actively involved in research and has authored over 70 peer-reviewed journal publications and multiple book chapters on topics in spinal and orthopedic surgery. He earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed his fellowship training in orthopedic spinal and deformity surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases in a combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery training program.

Emmanuel Menga, MD

J. Adair Prall, MD
Dr. J. Adair Prall (Neurosurgery One, Colorado) is a neurosurgeon with nearly 30 years of experience, specializing in advanced spine surgery, including minimally invasive procedures, spinal deformity correction, and complex cervical and lumbar spine reconstruction. He is also nationally recognized for his expertise in vascular compression syndromes, particularly trigeminal neuralgia, a condition in which he has more experience than any other neurosurgeon in the region. He is involved in research and field leadership, having authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, and serving as a board member of the Joint Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care, and most recently as Secretary/Treasurer of the Western Neurosurgical Society. Dr. Prall was also recently named a 2025 Top Doctor by 5280 Magazine and Castle Connolly and is a founding partner of Neurosurgery One. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and medical degree from The University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Harvinder Sandhu (Hospital for Special Surgery, New York) is Co-Chief Emeritus of HSS Spine and is an Attending Surgeon at HSS specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic surgery, and the use of spinal biologics to enhance healing. He completed his spine training at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and was subsequently Chief of the Spinal Surgery Service at UCLA until his recruitment to HSS. He is currently a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and Medical Director and Chief of HSS Connecticut. Dr. Sandhu has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications in areas such as biologic enhancement of spinal surgery (including the Infuse™ Bone Graft IDE Trial) and novel minimally invasive management of spinal disorders. He has received research awards from the North American Spine Society, Orthopaedic Research Society, and International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, including the prestigious Volvo Award in Spinal Research. Most recently, he received the HSS Andrew N. Swanson Memorial Spine Award for excellence in clinical innovation and spine education.

Harvinder Sandhu, MD, MBA

Jason Savage, MD
Dr. Jason Savage (Cleveland Clinic, Ohio) is an orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in all aspects of spinal surgery, with a dedicated interest in adult spinal deformity surgery. He currently serves as the Director of the Spine Surgery Fellowship and Adult Deformity Program at the Cleveland Clinic and is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Savage is active in research and has lectured nationally and internationally on the peri-operative optimization of adult spinal deformity patients. He has authored over 65 peer-reviewed research articles, over 10 book chapters, and has received multiple awards for his research and teaching. He also currently serves as the Deputy Editor of Clinical Spine Surgery and was previously the President of the Lumbar Spine Research Society. Dr. Savage received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Northwestern University, and completed his spine surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
